> Dear Ms. Bartley: My response to this astonishing letter is delayed because I have been on the road from before its October 31st date until now, so have only just seen it. I say "astonishing" but might well use stronger words, since everyone acquainted with this sorry affair knows the letter made up misleading innuendo and half truths (at best). Cengage still has the opportunity to reverse track and reinstate Professor Parker as the editor of the Arden Midsummer Night's Dream . The academic community and other Arden editors can only hope someone there will see the light and correct this grave error. Until then, I have to say, I will myself be purchasing no more Ardens or other Cengage publications and will advocate with others, students and faculty alike, that they do the same. A company that depends so strongly on the goodwill and participation of the academic community needs at the very least to treat the members of that community with respect and honesty, especially those, one might add, on whose labors the company depends.
